INDIAN FESTIVALS.

We added one more colorful feather in the crown of Fountainhead Preschool, on 9th & 10th October ’09 by celebrating INDIAN FESTIVALS under one roof.

HARVEST, CARNIVALS, NATIONAL, NEW YEAR, DANCE and common FESTIVALS were celebrated. We gave a warm welcome to our little guests with beautiful Rangolis & decorative Torans.

The lawn area was signified as “Harvest Area”. Festivals celebrated in this area were ‘Pongal’, ‘Onam’, ‘Baisakhi’, ‘Lohri’ & ‘Makarsankranti’. Activities like making a card with grains, rangolis with flower petals and pounding were enjoyed. Moreover, kids as well as the parents enjoyed dancing “Bhangra” to the beats of Dholwala.

Ghumar dance- the charm of the DESERT FESTIVAL was elegantly performed by our very own teacher. Painting moustache and tying turbans - WOW! It was a pleasure to see the kids like they were residents from the desert region. Applying beautiful mehndi on their hand added to their features.

Kids enjoyed the activity of throwing balls through the Clown cut out & also riding on the hand cart in the GOA CARNIVAL. The teachers also acted on a street play to tell the importance of Sports to the children and parents. Children took home beautiful colorful headbands as a souvenir.

The pride of our country-NATIONAL FESTIVALS!!!-had an aura of independence around. Teachers dressed up as National leaders gave the message of unity and non-violence through a dramatic play.

The New Year Festivals of our country included many cultures and religions. It was an opportunity for all of us to have a day of celebration amongst our busy schedules. So many new year festivals in one country, it happens only in INDIA. In spite of celebrating different and many NEW YEARS, there is a unique similarity in all the New Year Festivals.

Teachers showed great enthusiasm performing on folk songs at the DANCE FESTIVALS. Garba, Lavani, Bihu and Dumhal- A wonderful sight to watch rejoiced all viewers.

As a symbol of pomp and gaiety we celebrated INDIAN FESTIVALS with lavish arrangements to mark the occasion.
